About four-in-ten people get their news online, 57% of people still watch news on TV and only 20% of people read the newspaper. An average of 50% of people ages 18 – 29 get their news online whereas 85% of people ages 65 plus watch their news on TV.

Getting news on a mobile device has gone up from 54% in 2013 to 72% today. Printed newspapers are on a decline showing that 48% of people aged 65 plus still read the newspaper and only 5% of people aged 18 – 29 read the newspaper.

The study also showed that news watchers overwhelmingly prefer TV, while readers prefer online. Eighty percent of those who prefer watching their news, watch on TV, 59% of those who prefer reading their news, read online and 55% of those who prefer to listen to the news, listen on the radio.
