From CityWire: Annex Wealth chief investment strategist retires after son drafted by New York Mets

Annex Wealth Management’s chief investment strategist has retired from the role.

The Wisconsin RIA’s chief executive Dave Spano confirmed that Todd Voit retired after a five-year stint with the firm. Voit joined in 2020 following Annex’s acquisition of his RIA, Voit & Company.

‘I truly love what I’ve been doing with Annex Wealth Management since I’ve joined the team, and it would take something extraordinary to keep me from working there all the time,’ Voit told Citywire, in a statement. ‘Then something extraordinary happened: my son was the top draft pick of the New York Mets.’

The Mets selected his son, Mitch Voit, with the 38th overall pick in this year’s Major League Baseball draft, and the team officially signed him in July. A versatile infielder, Mitch Voit primarily played second base at the University of Michigan.

Todd Voit, who currently lives in the Naples, Fla., area, said he would spend more time cheering and less time in the office. ‘I still consider myself part of the Annex team, and I’ll be helping Annex reach its goals for years to come,’ Todd Voit also said.

Part of this ongoing work will include serving as a referral source for Annex, among his contacts in Florida, Spano said.

In his role with Annex, Voit was responsible for equity research, trading and stock selection methodology. He has also worked as an emeritus professor of finance at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Headquartered in Brookfield, which is in the Milwaukee metro area, Annex reported managing over $7.9bn in assets, as of November.

Annex is fresh off the acquisition of another Wisconsin RIA, WFA Asset Management, which managed $440m in assets.
