POLL: How Much Will You Spend This Holiday Season?

Americans who will purchase holiday gifts during the 2017 holiday season plan to spend $660 on average, about the same as in 2016 ($657), and 60% of those who plan to purchase gifts in 2017 say they will spend the same as last year.

How Much Will You Spend This Holiday Season?

Let’s Do Something Good

Let’s bring smiles to the faces of kids and families who could use a smile.

Annex Wealth Management is again partnering with WSSP radio as a Title Sponsor of the 2017 Toy Drive to Benefit Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The station is broadcasting live November 27th through Dec 1st from the drop off spot and Annex Wealth Management will be featured on-air Friday, Dec 1st.

PLEASE, give what you can this holiday season – either by helping us fill our box with toys for the kids who will be spending their holidays in the hospital, or through a tax-deductible check contribution made payable to “Children’s Hospital of WI.”

Toys can be placed in the toy box in our lobby and checks can be delivered/mailed to the Annex Elm Grove office. Checks need to be in prior to noon on December 1st so that we can take them to the Toy Drive with us later that day.

Every week, Annex Wealth Management will give you one thing you should do that may improve your financial well-being. We call it the “MoneyDo List.”

This weeks’ “MoneyDo” is: Set a budget for holiday spending.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year when we traditionally spend treasured time with our loved ones. But there is another post-Thanksgiving tradition many Americans observe: shopping.

Setting a budget now can help understand and set guidelines to manage anticipated spending.

Rise & Shine On Black Friday 2017

Same procedure as every year, first, there is Thanksgiving, then Black Friday and Cyber Monday, soon to be followed up by Christmas and finally New Year’s Eve. So for those who are still reminiscing about the last summer vacation: wake up! We have officially arrived at the annual end-of-year sprint. On November 24, the retail industry once again summons the discount-hungry-crowd for yet another round of Black Friday shopping. Many Americans take advantage of the good deals either to already purchase their gifts on the first leg of the holiday sprint or by appreciating the low prices with their full purchasing power.

A Statista survey on purchasing habits during the holiday season revealed that those participating in the Black Friday madness plan to make use of the many doorbuster deals, traditionally – is it a tradition already? – offered only during the early hours of the day. Being an early bird literally pays off, so that’s the logic of many holiday shoppers. Accordingly, pre-Black Friday advertising does too. So, if you don’t belong to the 47 percent planning to stay at home and you are looking for a new smartphone, some new swanky clothes or expensive toys for your kids, prepare to get up early; otherwise the Black Friday deals might be gone before you can make it to the stores.

MoneyDo: Be Grateful

Each week in MoneyDo, we focus on something you can do to try and help improve your financial picture or wealth state of being. This week, we want to focus on being grateful.
