Poll Recap

How Do You Spend Your Holiday Calories?

Holidays always seem to provide the opportunity for increased consumption of food and beverages we don’t typically indulge in, and Christmas is probably the most popular holiday to have traditional treats and meals which are only prepared during the season. In addition to there being more types of food to eat around Christmastime, there’s a lot more social gatherings to attend, most having plenty of food and drinks to go around.

Last week we asked Axiom readers to share how you spend your holiday calories. When things like gingerbread men, sugar cookies, and candy canes exist, it’s not surprising the largest percentage of respondents said Sweets were their treat of choice with 34%. The second most popular response was from those who typically stick to their normal diet during the holidays (27%). We admire your discipline.

The third, fourth, and fifth most popular choices for calorie consumption were salty and savory, celebratory beverages, and others, respectively.

Whatever you may choose to eat and drink this holiday season, we hope you’re able to do so in the company of family and friends!
