Keeping software and systems updated limits their vulnerability to cyber attacks – especially when using personal devices when working from home. According to a recent study, phishing/hacking/malware incidents and individual mistakes are the top causes of security breaches.

The majority of poll respondents answered that they stay regularly updated on their own personal cyber security. There was a smaller group of respondents that answered that they need help staying up to date, along with a few people responding that they don’t stay updated at all.

Here are a few easy tips to get started:

Change/update passwords.
Update patches for your internet connection, VPN, software, and applications.
Use anti-virus protection and Firewall.
Be cautious of phishing scams and sketchy emails. Always double-check emails and attachments before you open them!
