Last week, we asked Axiom readers who their biggest financial influence was. The overwhelming response – over 60% of respondents – was that you had the biggest influence on yourself.

Outside of that statement of self-reliance, your second highest vote-getter was your father, who edged out mom.

Interestingly, all of the voters in our 18-29 age group credited either mom or dad. The only other age group to laud mom or dad significantly was the 50-59 age group, who credited mom or dad with 1/3 of their votes.

Axiom readers seemed to diverge from a recent poll which had one fourth of respondents crediting themselves as their own biggest financial influence, with mothers edging dads as the biggest influencer.
