Poll Recap:
Our piece and poll on “Wealth Killers” struck a chord with Axiom readers, and for many of them – especially those over age 50 – the biggest response was “none of the above,” indicating they’re the wise sort of spenders you’d expect in our readership. Nearly 80% of our readers over age 60 answered “none of the above.”
Of those who identified a wealth killer, cable tv was the most popular choice across every age group. Cable TV offers all sorts of valuable entertainment options, but its costs are often around $100 a month.
Not surprisingly, the younger the age demographic, the less likely cable tv was mentioned. Larger numbers of younger audiences have “cut the cord” and tend to stream more of their entertainment. For our younger readers, buying too much house and not having an emergency fund was a larger concern.
