YOUR TAKE: How Smart Is Disney’s Streaming Decision?

Disney recently announced that it will remove its movies – properties that include Marvel Films, Pixar, and the Star Wars universe – from Netflix and launch a branded, direct-to-consumer streaming service.

Do you agree with Disney’s plan to launch its own direct-to-consumer streaming service?

Every week, Annex Wealth Management will give you one thing you should do that may improve your financial well-being. We call it the “MoneyDo List.”

This weeks’ “MoneyDo” is: Importance of Account Titling

A few weeks ago, we talked about beneficiary designation, which is a critical part of the estate planning puzzle. Another related issue that works alongside beneficiary designation is account titling, which addresses how you intentionally and specifically title your accounts, will and trust so that your family faces the least amount of confusion and tax consequences.

Account titling is an important part of getting your assets organized. Its simplicity often means it gets overlooked, which can expose you and your estate to risks and tax consequences.  This week we suggest you review the ownership structure of your accounts and make sure it works in conjunction (not contrary) with your estate planning goals.

Chrome Is The Number 1 Browser In The World

Google is often referred to as “the search company”. However, search is not the only area that Google excels in. As the following chart, based on StatCounter data shows, the company’s web browser Chrome is the number one gateway to the internet around the world.

Chrome’s lead is particularly impressive in the desktop category, which was dominated by Microsoft’s Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox for years before Chrome overtook them in 2012 and 2011, respectively.

More importantly though, Chrome also dominates mobile browsing. Thanks to its presence on hundreds of millions of Android devices, Chrome’s mobile market share amounted to 47 percent in June 2017, with Safari, the pre-installed browser on Apple’s mobile devices, a distant second at 21 percent.
